Hello,
Comment by M Smith — 28 Apr 2008 on 9:00 pm | LinkI worked for the civil service until I had an accident at work.My pension was pre April £304 per month. NOW post April, with a 3.9% rise and reduction in the 10pence income tax, I will get £296.45 per month. So this means that I get no increase whatsoever and also a reduction in the amountof pension I already get monthly of £6.00. I have been disabled for 8 years am in my forties, all my DLA goes on my car and carers (of which I have to add some of my own money into). My oil bill has doubled, I require 7 tanks of oil per annum, this equates to £3,500 per year and also £1,200 per year in electricity on top of all this. I am unable to work and wheelchair bound so I need the heating on all the time. How the heck am I supposed to live? I have worked all my life until my accident and I am disgusted with Labours view on all of this.
