The Leader said that on, Monday October 23, the business would be remaining stages of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Bill [Lords]. Details of other business were: Tuesday, October 24 – consideration of Lords amendments to the Police and Justice Bill; Wednesday, October 25 – remaining stages of the Charities Bill [Lords], followed by the Parliamentary Costs Bill [Lords] and then the Wireless Telegraphy Bill [Lords]; Thursday, October 26 – the Fraud Bill [Lords], followed by a debate on a motion to approve a European Document (939006), setting out the European Commission’s strategic thinking on taking forward the future of Europe, followed by a debate on DFID’s White Paper on a motion for the Adjournment of the House; Monday, October 30 – consideration of Lords amendments to the Violent Crime Reduction Bill. Mr Straw also referred to his earlier announcement that the House would rise for the Christmas recess on Tuesday, December 19 and return on Monday, January 8. The constituency week recess in 2007 would begin on Thursday, February 8 and the House would return on Monday, February 19. He explained that he had not been able to announce the full calendar until the House reached a decision on the future of September sittings.
