Asked if the Prime Minister was considering reviewing the rules governing the conduct of a Prime Minister’s spouse, the PMS said that she hadn’t discussed the issue with the Prime Minister. The Cabinet Office had been dealing with the issue and we had not made any comment.

I wonder how much longer we have to wait for some action from these people? What is the problem here I wonder?
Comment by Roger — 11 Jun 2005 on 10:29 pm | LinkTwo points:
1) It’s more than the PMS’ job is worth to ‘discuss’ the disgustingly avaricious behaviour of the PM’s spouse with anyone, let alone the PM.
2) No action will be taken by the Cabinet Office until after Blair’s term of office has ceased and he is safely working for the EU.
Comment by chuck unsworth — 12 Jun 2005 on 2:20 pm | LinkNot giving dosh derived indirectly, but received primarily as a consequence of, one’s publicly paid service to a charity and at the same time, pushing for African aid from everyone else’s hard earned seems like unreconstructed socialism to me. Nothing new, or even ‘New’ Labour, about such behaviour.
What’s worse is that it gives this country a tawdry image.
PS Where’s Blunket living and who’s picking up the tab?
PPS Isn’t the Geldorf gig ‘tickets at the front for the rich’ scam the same kind of thing?
