Asked about the public sector borrowing figures, the PMS said that we always knew that we would be in for the long haul and we had to look at what the figures were in relation to the Budget forecast. This was a global recession and these figures reflected that. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development had said the economy was set for recovery.
