Asked if there was going to be a Government announcement on Post Office accounts, the PMS said that that was a matter for the DWP and as and when they were in a position to make any such announcement they would do so.
Put that the Government s response to the Calman Commission had ducked some important issues, the PMS replied that our position on that had been set out recently and that was the Government position.
Asked whether the Prime Minister agreed with Jock Stirrup s comments on what should happen to British troops in Iraq, the PMS replied that any decisions we made on troops would be made on the basis of advice that we received from the military.
