PBR
« President Karzai | Back to most recent briefing | Visit to US »
Asked to clarify the mystery surrounding the date of the PBR, the PMS said that there was no mystery. The Treasury had announced that it would be on Monday 24th November. Put that the PMS had mentioned this morning that there was an impact on the date because of the Prime Minister and the Chancellor travelling and had it been delayed, the PMS replied that he wouldn t say it had been delayed, but the Chancellor and particularly the Prime Minister had been out of the country quite a lot recently. We had now set the date. Asked that when the date was chosen, was it taken into account that that was the day of the CBI annual conference, the PMS said that whatever date was chosen, there would always have been something taking place.
