Meeting with Banks

Asked if the Prime Minister would be attending the meeting Lord Mandelson was having with bank chief executives this week, the Prime Minister s Spokesman (PMS) said that the Prime Minister was not planning to attend but the Chancellor would be attending.
Asked which banks would be represented at the meeting, the PMS said that he did not have that information; it was best to talk to the Treasury.
Asked what the purpose of the meeting was, the PMS replied that the purpose of the meeting was as set out by Lord Mandelson at the BERR Select Committee this morning.
