Syria

Asked for an update on the situation in Syria, the PMS said the Foreign Secretary would be providing a statement to the House later that morning. The statement would cover humanitarian assistance, discussions with the Syrian National Council and the importance of finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict. Asked for the PM?s view on President Putin?s comments about strikes potentially escalating the situation, the PMS said that the PM continued to stress the importance of a robust response to the use of chemical weapons.
