Asked if the Prime Minister wanted to see a swift conclusion to the investigation into the Defence Secretary’s contact with Adam Werrity, the Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) said he wanted it to be concluded as soon as possible but it needed to be done thoroughly. Asked several questions on the remit of the investigators and the conclusions it would draw, the PMS said all outstanding issues would be addressed, that the report would be delivered in due course but that a running commetary on the investigation would not be provided. Asked if the terms of reference of the investigation would be published, the PMS said there had been questions raised about the role of Mr Werrity and it was important to establish the full facts and see if the Ministerial Code had been broken. Asked a number of questions relating to whether the Prime Minister had full confidence in the Defence Secretary, the PMS said that he had full confidence in him.
