« Northern Ireland | Back to most recent briefing | Kraft/Cadbury »
The Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) began by giving a readout of Cabinet. The Prime Minister updated Cabinet on the situation in Northern Ireland in the absence of the Secretary of State. The Prime Minister referred to the speech he would be giving on constitutional issues and spoke about devolution, the establishment of the Supreme Court, the Freedom of Information Act, local government reform and providing Government data to enable citizens to hold Government to account.
The PMS added that the Defence Secretary gave a brief update and described the Afghan conference as a real success, as well as referring to the Defence Green Paper and Afghanistan more generally.
