MPs Expenses

Asked whether the Prime Minister backed MPs appealing against repayment demands, the PMS said that the Prime Minister wouldn’t comment on individual cases, but he had always said that he supported the independent Legg process and always urged MPs and Ministers to cooperate fully with Sir Thomas Legg.

Asked if the Legg process included a right to appeal, the PMS said he was sure that that was built into the process and if that was the case, the Prime Minister would be comfortable with that.
