Northern Ireland Settlement

Asked for a ballpark total figure for the settlement agreement, the PMS said this was a proposal with a number of elements, where elements had been possible to cost they had been set out in the letter. The PMS said the Prime Minister thought this was a very good package and if agreed by the parties would enable devolution to be completed. The PMS pointed out that the Prime Minister had been involved in all 10 meetings between the parties. The PMS said this was a big moment for Northern Ireland and the Prime Minister had been keen to see these talks through personally.
