Asked if the Prime Minister was comfortable with the publication of guidelines on assisted suicides, the PMS said that Director for Public Prosecutions was obliged by law to produce the new interim guidance, which was being published as we spoke. We would need to look at the detail in full, but it remained that the Crown Prosecution Service would look at each individual and make a decision regarding possible prosecution based on the detail of each separate case.
