Misc

Asked for more detail on the DRC meeting and the subject of electoral reform, the PMS said he would not comment on that before the meeting had happened, but if he was able to he would update people if anything came out of that meeting.

Asked about Copenhagen and possible energy shortages in the future, the PMS said that this was a major global issue, but there was nothing he was aware of in terms of imminent new policy developments. It was something that governments all around the world were very sensitive to.

Asked how the Prime Minister felt about being described as dour and depressing by a member of the Obama administration, the PMS said that the Prime Minister s relationship with President Obama was in very good shape. They had had a number of reported telephone conversations over the last few months.

The PMS said that he did not recognise the comments. The special relationship was very important to both governments and the two leaders looked forward to seeing each other at G20 and talking before that.
