Lindsey Oil Refinery
« Michael Jackson | Back to most recent briefing | Governor of the Bank of England and Treasury »
Asked if the Government had had any involvement with resolving the dispute at Lindsey, the PMS said that it was not for the Government to get involved in industrial disputes; it was more for ACAS to mediate between parties. More generally, the Government welcomed the progress that had been made. This was a positive step forward and we hoped that work at the refinery would now return to normal. We had been saying that this needed to be resolved quickly for some time and we had made clear that it was important that talks resumed. We were pleased that the talks had resumed and that progress had been made.
