MPs Pensions

Put that MPs would be voting tomorrow on a Government proposal to increase the amount the taxpayer put into MPs pension pots and was this something the Prime Minister supported, the PMS said that he did not think there was anything new in this. This was something that been reported months ago. The purpose was to reduce the exposure to the taxpayer compared to what it might otherwise have been and that was why MPs were increasing their contributions.

Put that the context had changed, the PMS replied that that was for others to judge, but the proposals were as set out several months ago. The PMS said that as he understood it, this was something that had been subject to cross-party consultation.
