Asked if there was any response from the Government on the latest reported comments from the Iranian Foreign Minister, the PMS said that the Prime Minister had talked about this yesterday. We were monitoring the situation and we had noted these reports. We had always made clear that we would seek a constructive bilateral relationship with Iran, based on mutual respect.
Iran s decision to try to turn what were clearly internal matters for Iran into a conflict with the UK and others, was deeply regrettable and without foundation.
