Cabinet

Asked about the Cabinet meeting this morning, the PMS said that the meeting would contribute to the preparation of the Draft Legislative Programme, which would be published over the next few weeks.
Asked if the Cabinet meeting was focused on public service reform, the PMS said yes. It was a longer than usual meeting of the Cabinet and an opportunity for them to take stock of the next steps of the domestic policy agenda and to focus in particular on public services.
Asked if the meeting was taking place in the Pillared Room at No 10 because the whole of Cabinet was unable to fit into the Cabinet Room, the PMS said that the journalist was reading too much into the decision to have the meeting in the Pillared Room; it was a long meeting and people welcomed the extra space afforded by the Pillared Room.
