Asked if the Government was going ahead with the Bill in the House of Commons, the PMS said that Lord Mandelson confirmed yesterday that the Bill was going ahead. During the third reading debate in May Lord Mandelson said that any strategic partner should be motivated to modernise the Royal Mail over the long-term and should offer values for money for the taxpayer; we would not do a deal at any price.
