Doncaster attacks

Asked what the Prime Minister’s response was to the attacks in Doncaster, the PMS said the Prime Minister’s position was that clearly this was a shocking incident. There was a police investigation under way, so it would be wrong to say more at this stage, but we would follow the case closely.

Asked whether the Prime Minister believed this incident was indicative of wider social problems, the PMS said that in the Prime Minister’s view the overwhelming majority of children in this country were well behaved and had had good upbringings and therefore he would be cautious about making any general sweeping statement or any general conclusions on the basis of what is a disturbing but nonetheless single event.
