G20
« Cabinet | Back to most recent briefing | Wrekin Construction »
Asked about any more preparation for G20, the PMS said that the Prime Minister had spoken to President Sarkozy last Friday and he would be meeting Chancellor Merkel at the weekend. This week, quite a lot of the G20 preparatory activity was being undertaken by Finance Ministers, with the meeting today of EU Finance Ministers in Brussels and then the meeting later this week of G20 Finance Ministers.
Asked if it was broadly on track, the PMS said that it would be a challenge, bringing together 20 different countries. The PMS added that he didn t think anyone was claiming that a single meeting was going to solve all of the world s problems and we were not suggesting that and clearly there was a lot more work to be done.
