Asked whether the Prime Minister supported Prime Minister Rasmussen to be the next Secretary General of NATO, the PMS said we wouldn t normally comment specifically on appointments of that nature.

Asked what would be on the agenda with Prime Minister Museveni, the PMS said that Mr Museveni was an important leader in the region and he would want to discuss how the global economic downturn was affecting countries in Africa and what more we could do in order to ensure our development objectives remained on track.

Asked whether the Prime Minister had sent a message to Morgan Tsvangirai, the PMS said that the Prime Minister had passed on a message of condolences to Mr Tsvangirai.

Asked if there would be an announcement this week on central Government intervention at Stoke City Council, the PMS said that he was not aware of any but people should check with DCLG.
