Working Capital Scheme

Asked how worried the Prime Minister was that the scheme had been delayed, the PMS said that as we had set out at the time of announcing this and other schemes, they were necessarily detailed and took some time to implement. As Harriet Harman had set out at PMQ s, the important thing was that we were taking action to help businesses at a time when they found it very difficult to access credit as they previously had.
Asked whether he accepted that some businesses would be reliant on the start dates originally given, the PMS replied that we had brought forward a range of schemes over recent months, designed to help businesses of different sizes and these schemes came into operation as soon as possible.
