Lahore Attacks

Asked for a response to the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team this morning, the PMS said that DCMS had put out a statement this morning from Andy Burnham, which described the attack as shocking and senseless.
It went on to say that the game of cricket brings players, spectators and nations together in a common peaceful purpose and this appalling attack was a grotesque violation of that. Our thoughts are with the Sri Lankan cricketers and the families of the Pakistani police officers who died protecting them.
The PMS said that the Prime Minister associated himself with that statement. Asked whether we had offered any help or assistance, the PMS said that that was a question best directed at the Foreign Office.
