Asked why a deal had not been reached overnight between Lloyds and the Treasury, the PMS said that he would not characterise it in those terms. Lloyds and the Treasury had both made clear that discussions regarding Lloyds participation in the Asset Protection Scheme were well advanced. Asked if there would be an agreement today, the PMS said that a further update would be provided once the negotiations had been completed.
