Cabinet

The Prime Minister s Spokesman (PMS) began by giving a run down of Cabinet. It was mostly focussed on the economy, both in terms of the immediate issues as well as what the Government was doing to prepare for the future. There had been a report from Lord Carter on his interim report on Digital Britain and he would be publishing that on Thursday.

There was also a wider discussion on the economy and Lord Mandelson also outlined the measures that he would be announcing later today, both in terms of the immediate support for the car industry and what we needed to do to ensure we had the strongest possible car industry in Britain in the future.
