Put that there seemed to be concern over the guarantee of Icesave accounts, particularly for local authorities, the Prime Minister s Spokesman (PMS) told the assembled press that Alastair Darling had answered a question on the matter in the Commons chamber earlier. We understood the issues in relation to local authorities and the Government stood ready to sit down and discuss with them any particular issues that may arise out of this. As Alastair Darling explained to the House earlier, at the moment it was very difficult to get much, if any information out of the Icelandic authorities so if any local authorities wanted to discuss the issue with the Government, then the PMS was sure the Treasury and DCLG would happily discuss it with them.
