Asked if Ivan Lewis would be switched to the Treasury in an autumn reshuffle, the PMS replied that as people knew he would not comment on reshuffles.
Asked if Ivan Lewis still had the full support of the Prime Minister in his role as Health Minister, the PMS replied that Ivan Lewis was doing an excellent job at the Department of Health.
Asked who was minding the shop this week, the PMS replied that the Prime Minister was in charge and was performing that task this week. Jack Straw would be the Minister coordinating Government business whilst the Prime Minister was travelling later in the week.
