Asked if the Prime Minister supported the work of the Charity Commission, the PMS said that the work of the Charity Commission was a matter for them. Asked why the Prime Minister hadn’t answered the Charity Commission’s letter regarding the Smith Institute, the PMS said that the matter of the Charity Commission enquiry into the Smith Institute was a matter for the trustees of the Smith Institute and the Charity Commission. He would look into the circumstances surrounding the letter and if there were any issues concerning the Prime Minister we would get back to the journalist.
