Policing

Asked if the Prime Minister had a view on whether or not police forces should be given foundation status, the PMS said that the Prime Minister had a view on the reform of the police and that this was something we were taking forward. The Home Office would be bringing forward proposals on the next steps of the reform of the police in the not too distant future.

Asked if the Prime Minister was in favour of a national border police force, the PMS said that journalists were aware of our position on this; we had published a consultation document several months ago and were taking actions to integrate the various agencies at the border.
