Cabinet
« Northern Ireland | Back to most recent briefing | Alex Salmond’s Letter »
The Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) began by telling the assembled journalists that there had an update from the Home Secretary at Cabinet this morning on pre-charge detention; it was emphasised that, despite the conclusion that the BBC appeared to have reached this morning, it was not the case that we could assume this vote was in the bag and that there was more to do over the coming days and weeks ahead.
Also at Cabinet this morning, Alan Johnson gave a presentation on the changes being made to the NHS performance, regime ahead of his announcement tomorrow; Shaun Woodward gave an update on Northern Ireland, ahead of the deadline for the nomination of the new First Minister and Deputy First Minister on Thursday and David Miliband gave an update on Kosovo.
Asked what David Miliband has said about Kosovo, the PMS said that David Miliband had said very little, except to say that the situation was currently quite stable.
