Asked if the Prime Minister had any objection to the closure of four post offices in his constituency, the PMS replied that the Prime Minister’s view on post offices had been set out in Prime Minister’s Questions, and at other times in recent days and weeks. There was clearly a process of restructuring taking place in the post offices at the moment, four million fewer people were using the post office each week than was the case two years ago, and post office losses has risen from £2million a week in 2005 to £4million a week last year. So needless to say the Prime Minister supported the policy of the Government. Briefing took place at 11:00 | Search for related news Original PMOS briefings are © Crown Copyright.
