Fuel Prices

Put that the Prime Minister had said that it was unacceptable that fuel prices were going up so sharply, and asked if he could do anything about it, the PMS replied that we could continue to work with our international partners to put pressure on OPEC and oil suppliers to increase the supply of oil, and therefore try to take action to get the price of oil down which was the fundamental reason why petrol prices had gone up by so much in recent weeks and months.

Put that some people were suggesting that the 2p duty may be postponed, the PMS replied that this was a matter for the Chancellor and the Treasury to consider at the appropriate time.
