Put that First Direct had stopped issuing new mortgages to customers and did the Prime Minister have any words of reassurance for the public, the PMS said that the Prime Minister had talked in his press conference about understanding the concerns of home buyers and those with mortgages, but also set out the position that the UK was in and how we were best placed to deal with the international economic turbulence, including his discussions with European partners.
