» Thursday, March 6, 2008Embryo Research
Asked what position the Prime Minister was taking on which way Cabinet Ministers should vote on embryo research, the PMS replied that this was clearly Government business that had already been through the Lords, but it had not started its passage through the Commons yet, and that was still some time away. So we were not at a point yet where decisions would have to be taken in relation to individuals. This was Government business, but if any particular individual had an issue, then that was something they would have to discuss with the Chief Whip. Put that it would not necessarily be a categoric three line whip, the PMS replied that it was Government business, but obviously if any individual had an issue, that was something they would need to discuss with the Chief Whip. Dear Mr Brown,
I am absolutely horrified by embryonic experiementation, and hybrid embryos, 99% human is the last word in the depraved study. It is nonsense to say that it is required to find cures for dreadful illness like Parkinson’s disease. For all the experiments in the past on embryos, there have no cures produced whereas adult stem research has produced many therapies to alleviate this disease. The latter is ethically sound, and the patient does not suffer rejection, as the cells used are in own.
Without doubt this is one of the ‘new’ sins the Vatican announced today.
Please, Mr Brown as the son of the manse be guided by the respect for human life.
