» Friday, February 1, 2008MP’s Employing Family Members
Asked if the Prime Minister planned to ask the Cabinet to reveal which family members they were employing, the PMS replied that he thought that the question being asked was really a question about the relationship between the leader of the Labour Party and Labour MP’s. The PMS added that his political colleague had just issued a statement on the matter setting out the position. MPs using family members for support reminds me of the Civil Service rules. As a retired Civil Servant I was not allowed to work in the same office as my wife. In my case I met my wife who worked in the same office as me at the time but when we got married we were given a choice, either I moved or she did. How do you reconcile that with todays exposures about MPs abusing the system?
