Asked about the current status of the HMRC missing data and party funding reports, the PMS replied that, regarding party funding, there was a process ongoing which was being led by Jack Straw. Regarding the HMRC data loss report, there was an interim report from Mr Pointer before Christmas and the final report was due for publication sometime this spring. He added that it was best to double check with the Treasury to see if they could give a more precise timetable than that. Asked about the police enquiry into party funding, the PMS said that that was not something he was going to comment on. Asked if the Prime Minister had been questioned by police regarding party funding, the PMS replied no.
