Asked when the Home Secretary would be making her statement on knives as mentioned at the press conference this morning, the PMS replied that it was best to touch base with the Home Office on the details. We had a violent behaviour strategy due to be published fairly shortly, and she believed that the Home Secretary would be in the North West in the next few days where this would be discussed further. Asked for details of meetings with President Sarkozy, Chancellor Merkel, and Prime Minister Prodi, and would it be a summit or separate bilaterals, the PMS replied that they would all be meeting together in Downing Street later this month.
