» Wednesday, December 12, 2007Lord Ashdown
Asked if Lord Ashdown was any nearer being appointed to a UN role, the Prime Minister’s Spokesman told the assembled press that she would not speculate on individuals at this stage, as this was an appointment for the UN Secretary General to make. It was stated at Lobby that morning that an appointment of somebody into the discussed role could be expected shortly but not imminently. Asked how long imminent was, the PMS told journalists that she would leave that for them to determine and would not be able to give any further guidance.
