Put that the Chancellor had said in the Treasury Select Committee that banks should be stopped from hiding debt on balance sheets, and asked if anything could be expected in the Queen’s Speech, the PMS replied that this was something that had been said before by the Chancellor, and was also something referred to in the joint UK/French/German Statement on financial markets that we agreed in Lisbon last Friday. But in terms of specifics in terms of how this was being taken forward, journalists were best to speak to the Treasury.
