» Thursday, October 11, 2007PM Meeting with US Defence Secretary
Asked what would happen in the second phase of Overwatch and whether or not this was something the Prime Minister and Robert Gates would discuss, the Prime Minister’s Spokesman (PMS) said, without going into specifics, that the Government’s approach to Iraq had been characterised by a process of full consultation with the US Administration and that was something which would continue. Asked if it was right to assume that British decisions had been taken with the full consent of the US and the Coalition, the PMS said that there had been full consultation with the US and other key allies and this was the position the Prime Minister had set out to the House of Commons on Monday.
