Asked what the hospital visit that morning had involved, the PMS said that the purpose of visiting the University College London Hospital was to visit the Institute of Nuclear Medicine; the Prime Minister and Chancellor had had a short briefing and were shown the work of that institute including the first PETCT scanner in the UK, which could vastly reduce diagnosis times in cardiac and cancer problems.
