Asked whether the Prime Minister would be prepared to allow an Opposition spokesman to hold pre-election talks with a senior civil servant, the PMS told the assembled press that the Prime Minister was considering that request and would reply at an appropriate time. Asked if that would be today, the PMS said that it would be at a time at which the Prime Minister felt as though it would be appropriate to respond.
