Asked about a report on high-tech industry mentioned by the Prime Minister in his speech at the Reuters Headquarters, the PMS said that the report would be published on Friday.
Asked whether the Prime Minister had any plans to visit the Queen this week, the PMS said that the Government did not normally comment in advance on when the Prime Minister would be meeting the Queen.
Asked if the Prime Minister was confident that the credit turmoil was over, the PMS responded by saying that the Prime Minister had set out his views on the economy that morning. There was a more detailed speech by Alistair Darling, that set out more fully the Government’s position and the PMS did not have anything to add to that.
