Asked about the disagreement between the Prime Minister and Alex Salmond on whether the correct term was Scottish Executive or Scottish Government, the PMS expressed his surprise on reading the story this morning. The PMS reiterated the position that as far as the Government was aware, there was no change in the devolution settlement. In response to the suggestion that this was a tactical creep towards Scottish independence, the PMS again said that the position on devolution had not changed.
