Asked for a few words on the death of Pavarotti, the PMS said the Prime Minister thought Pavarotti was the outstanding opera singer of his generation. He had inspired many people from this generation to listen to and enjoy opera. The Prime Minister was sure that people would remember him from the glorious summer of 1990, when Pavarotti’s voice became the voice of that summer.
