The Prime Minister’s Official Spokesman (PMOS) drew journalists’ attention to the statement on Ministerial appointments. David Hanson would move across as a Minister of State from the Northern Ireland Office to the Ministry of Justice and that Gerry Sutcliffe would move from the Home Office to the Ministry of Justice. Asked what David Hanson would be doing, the PMOS said that the important thing about David Hanson’s employment meant that there would be two Ministers of State within the department, so while Lord Falconer was in the Lords, there would now be two Ministers of State in the Commons.
