<description>We the family are grateful for the representations made by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, the Prime Minster and his Cabinet colleagues and politicians of all political persuasions played an important role. Diplomats, the NGO community and faith leaders of all denomination worked tirelessly for the release of Mirza Tahir Hussain.

President Musharraf was conversant of the strength of feelings surrounding this case both at home and abroad. He looked at that the circumstances and merits of the case and sort advice of the Attorney General of Pakistan. He acted according to the Constitution, laws and norms of Pakistan with the consent of Prime Minister Aziz, members of the Senate and National Assembly. In end it was sovereign decision for the State of Pakistan and His Excellency exercised mercy and compassion to save an innocent life. We all welcome this gracious and noble deed in rectifying a terrible miscarriage of justice. President Musharraf is indeed a progressive and enlighten leader.
