1. Hello, if I’d have known this website existed I would have written in earlier. I am an ex-soldier who has bore witness to you politicians running the once "great British" army into the ground. Let the soldiers do their jobs in these overcommited theatres of operations. Too many cost cutting and and ill thought out ideas are getting our blokes killed. These 2 blokes from 2PARA (along with countless other cas’s) would have survived if proper procedures were in place. To go out in Al Amarah with crappily armoured up Land Rovers instead of Warriors with decent Chobham armour, 30mm cannon and decent ROE’s is just stupid. Stop thinking of hearts and minds as this is just interpreted as weekness by the Rags. Let the guys do their jobs, stop tying their hands with your political junk. The senior ranks don’t care as they’ve been in too long and have pensions and famillies to look after. Ask the guy’s on the ground doing the job how good it feels to be doing back to back tours in shitty enviroments due to your mismanagement.The entire service is undermanneda nd mega-overstretched People join the Army primarily to serve their country not to get dumped on by self-serving politicians. The sad thing is you won’t change anything even when the nxt bloke get’s taken out as he was riding in a Snatch not a Warrior. You seriously don’t impress me.
