» Monday, January 30, 2006Select Committee response
Asked if there might be a formal response to the Select Committee about the education reforms, the PMOS replied that we were in a process where people were contributing to the debate. As the PMOS had said last week, we welcomed the fact that the Select Committee supported the ideas of independent trust schools as a way of moving forward on education and a strategic role for the LEAs. There were other issues which we would reflect on, but we were at the stage where we had not yet published the Bill. We would do so in accordance with the timetable we had set out for publication sometime this month, and the Second Reading would be in the middle of next month. The PMOS said we would take it step by step. Briefing took place at 9:00 | Search for related news Original PMOS briefings are © Crown Copyright.
